Re: Please give any advice on my new website

I'm afraid your website is not yet visible. All we see is a "Website under construction" sign.
There should be a button to "publish and be damned" :P

Re: Cleaning costs and welcome packs. How much is too much??

Not sure if I’m being naïve but do you think I can do it being so far away? I’m starting to have doubts 🙈🙈 I've been renting our property for over 20 years now. Its 1500 miles from home in another country (25 hours drive). So, yes, you can do it, but it needs organisation, a good local manager and ...

Toms right, but if, like me, you have a local accountant, they are probably already doing all that for you. But "raising" an invoice for tax purposes is not necessarily the same as "sending it" to the guest. Most of my guests being British wouldn't know what to do with it. To ans...

.. I don’t see the comparison with internet usage being similar. The similarity goes back to the early noughties when forums such as this were crowded with discussions about how much to charge for WiFi; whereas today you would be laughed at for thinking of charging. And so it will be as the growth ...

Just an anecdote. Take it or leave it.... (I am a self confessed geek) When I saw that prominent button "Map of site" I yawned and wondered why a relatively small website with few pages needed a sitemap and why the link was so prominent, so avoided it. I hope you know what I mean by ...

A slightly different viewpoint: Assuming none of the other attempts suggested above and elsewhere have any impct on your unfriendly neighbour, I would be sure to advise all incoming guests of this issue. By all means couch the wording in as light or jokey manner as you can, perhaps ridiculing the ne...

I remember not so very long ago getting into a debate here on LMH regarding charges for Internet usage. My argument then was that you do not charge for electricity to watch TV or switch on lights, you don't charge for water to shower, bath or brush your teeth, so treat Internet just as another Utili...

They booked on 4 June 2020 during a known pandemic and Spain had not fully emerged from lockdown. My view is they took a risk and want me to insure them. Yes, we all know that you are right. We all agree with your arguments. But in 2020 the world changed. Social norms got disorganised. Expectations...

Re: adding a3rd party booking thinggy to PMP

... price our short breaks, ( 2days @ 70%, 3@75% , 4@80, 5@90% of week rate) Does anyone have a booking system that will handle different rates for different length of stay? PIMS will price up a 2,3,4 or 5 days stay exactly as you have described, but the widget in your website doesn't quite work as...

The disgruntled comments in the forum are somewhat justified, but then they do generate a lot of bookings. The key to using this company is a psychological one: When you list with them, you are handing over the rental of your property lock, stock and barrel to a 3rd party who will do it all for you....

A Message From Our Founders - Airbnb

I'm sure many of you got this letter today form the 3 founders of Airbnb where they once again reiterated THEIR decision to enable free Cancellations outside of all previous or private cancellation policies. What I particularly enjoyed was reading how "We are partners, and we will get through t...
