We are at the early stages of letting out our apartment in Turkey and currently working on a PromoteMyPlace website, which I will link on LMH for feedback but I am wondering does everyone advertise on a listing sites or do you get enough business from your own website and word of mouth?

i don't think many people would survive without advertising on listing sites and there are numerous discussions on here re the best and not so good. Some only use free listing sites others stick with the well know ones that do charge quite high fees but that's because they produce results.

Personally I use Flipkey and Holiday Lettings as my prime listing sites but I'm on numerous others, some free, some specialist to this part of the country, some specialist to the type of visitor we think will want to come here and some because we are trialing how they perform for us. I also use Google Adwords, and run occasional Facebook ads. I've yet to try e-bay as some do but haven't yet felt the need as bookings are good.

I think you need to get in front of as many people as possible but setting up Gooogle analytics will help in seeing which are listing sites are performing for you.

I'm not the most technical savy person so no doubt others will be along soon to say what they do
