villa-klarici.com Vs villaklarici.com

We are finally going to buy a domain name with our house name in it. villa-klarici.com is easier to read than villaklarici.com but is a hyphen in a domain name, a problem? Can anyone help please?
Both are available atm

Thanks.

Couldn't you buy both, then forward one to the other? That's quite easy to do. It means that you catch requests for both domains. It also means nobody else can have the 2nd one.

I haven't checked price, but they're not normally too expensive, and there are usually good prices for 2, 3 or 5 year up-front.

I'd definitely get both. Then it's just a question of which one will be the main one - I think I prefer the one with the hyphen, it looks easier to read.

Haha, the jury is out then. My natural instinct is towards the one without the hyphen Smile

Conclusion? Get both.

Thanks for your replies, Russell and Joanna. I will be buying both names and we will see how it goes. When the time comes, I will also need to point our existing domain name to the new site - but I will put that off as long as I can, as I understand that would be too many! Smile

Remember that domain names, like email names, are case INsensitive, so you can always visually present your website as

VillaKlarici.com

That's a good point from Richard - and you can use typography to make it clearer too e.g. villaKlarici

Yes, of course, that's true - both of you. I just hadn't thought of that. In fact I use @VillaKlarici, just as Richards says, on Facebook. Rolling Eyes
