Almost certainly. Where did yours come from - mine was from Pureholidayhomes and I have emailed them to ask if he has been sending a lot of enquiries.

He was found to have done something bad a few years ago so CNN dropped him for awhile, now he is back.

I saw the reports of that, but I can't imagine that the real Richard Quest is looking for a 12 month let in two such different parts of Spain.

I got an enquiry from him today from Pure Holiday Homes for a 12 month let. I was immediately suspicious and looked here and guess what - a scam!

Pure Holiday Homes replied to me that he had made several enquiries but that there was no firm evidence that it was a scam and perhaps I should send a normal reply.

As it happens we already have several bookings during the period he was (allegedly) looking for, so I was able to reply honestly with that information. No response from him, but then I was not expecting one!

Weird Why is only enquiring about Spanish properties? Could it be that he is genuine? Has anyone tried making him an offer or is everyone in the same position as me?

I replied that I already have bookings for that period but asked if he would like me to pass his enquiry on to a local agent. As yet, I've not had a reply from him.

Dear all,

We are looking into the possibility that these enquiries may be bogus and we also have concerns relating to another enquirer Derrick Moore (also from the US) due to the high levels of enquiries they made over the weekend.

We will endeavour to find out more information today but in the meantime please proceed with caution.

Thanks Sean, good to see you're in the loop on these things. We had the Derek More email through. I sent a courteous reply saying that we don't rent out for that long a period and he's come back today asking "how long would you rent the house for". I'll just ignore him. I assume it's one of those money-laundering scams and perhaps he and 'Richard Quest' are one and the same.

Shame, as it's the only 'enquiry' we've had from Pureholidayhomes since joining in September.

I've just had an email back from him, totally ignoring the fact that I said we can't accommodate him and asking if I should pass his enquiry to an agent. This is what he sent...
