Some complaints just make you smile!

Our best was "the sand in the sandbox is too fine - it sticks to our child!"

What do you answer? "let him play in the gravel"?

"The soil in the garden is too dirty" - so tell your hideous brats to get out of the flowerbeds, stop uprooting my plants and go and play in the sandpit/with the swing or trampoline or read a book

We had a guest call to tell us they had left their cottage because their baby had been bitten by a mosquito, and we had not warned them this was a risk of renting a cottage in Ontario. They wanted a full refund for the week.

Our first ever guests (nearly 7 years ago), 'senior' bikers, left after one night after they'd realised that the country roads to our place in rural France were unlit and there was gravel on the road!

What amused us was that they moved to Limoges and had an even longer ride to the accommodation on unlit roads!

Unfortunately this is the way of the world. Everyone else's fault except their own.

'Too much snow' - from Canadians in November, when our website gives month by month weather including the statement that 'November is when the snow arrives' - guest response to that was 'there is too much information on your website'.

This may well have been written tongue-in-cheek, as it was part of a glowing review:

"You told us about the steep hill down to the beach, but not the steep hill back home"
