Well, having read all of your comments to make sure it wasn't a scam of any kind (thanks Forum), I have just created my listing on theholidaylet.com. I had a direct email from them offering me two free years' listing, so it's worth a go. I'll let you all know how I get on - particularly if it leads to any bookings.

Ooops. I really should be more thorough! I've just checked again after I received another enquiry this week which quickly turned into a 2-week booking. Now I find, that those New Year people booked again a year later and there have been 3 other bookings through TheHolidayLet that I hadn't spotted. That's 6 bookings from 3 free listings. Not bad eh?

What about bunging them some dough, to raise their spirits and reward their work?

Yes, last time, I took a paid slot for a while. I'll probably do the same again.

Hi All
Ive just had 2 enquiries from theholidaylet for next year, would seem a little odd as these were within a couple of hours of each other, but I think theyre genuine as I ve just had a phone call as well from 1 of the enquirerers, but the dates are booked.
Maybe theyre doing a publicity splurge

Well Im impressed
Craig....thl...... has just contacted me
Hi Ros,
A quick email regarding your recent enquiries.
Liz and I had a look at them as it seemed a bit odd that you got 2 in such a short period of time. While the email addresses could be dubious (yahoo and hotmail – which can be obtained easily), both enquirers have left seemingly genuine contact tel. numbers.
It’s a bit strange though, so we advise some caution, just to be safe...............................
Best wishes,
Craig at theholidaylet
I think its great that a rental site keeps an eye on posts here, so well done Craig for being on the ball....... and I will be cautious[Im already booked anyhows]
Take care, and I hope the site does well for you bothx
