ISP in France

Post by Loopy Lou »

Hi Guys,

Can you recommend a good internet service provider in France (Deux Sevres 79)? I use Zen in the UK but they only cover the UK.

Any thoughts on satellite connections for the computer? The area I am buying in doesn't have broadband yet, I understand.

Don't want to be out of touch for any length of time!

Thanks.

Lou

Hi loopy, there is a site (which escapes me at the moment) where you can check this, think I found it on TF site.

Sorry cant be more specific, but its worth a look in the "getting connected" section, you'll find all things internetish......

Hi

the site is http://www.degrouptest.com/

This site will also tell you when ADSL is expected. It was very accurate for my connection (the Wanadoo site was quite late in changing to "adsl available").

You need to use your actual phone number (if you are too far from the node, ADSL will not be available).

Satellite may not be such a good solution. There is a discussion about it here : http://www.drkeyboard.net/viewtopic.php ... =satellite

Bonne chance
