Suspect Text

Anyone had not an iffy email enquiry but a suspect text? I'm not sure of the angle on this frankly so opinions are welcome. On my way home from work this evening I received a text which simply said: "I want to rent your property. Please contact me by email" after which there was an aol email addy. I texted back immediately asking "Do you have any dates in mind?" Silence. Once I got home I texted again to ask that they make an enquiry via the web site (and clearly I don't know which one they harvested my mobile number from) giving details of the required dates and the number of people in their party. Alternatively I invited them to phone me. Silence on all fronts. Strange huh?

I think I've had this, but it's a while ago and I think I just ignored it. Sorry no help at all really, but whatever it was in the text led me to think it was just a way of trying to gather my email address. If they haven't already got it, then they're not having it is my motto.

Input the number (07624803040) to whocallsme.com...several others have received 'enquiries' in the last 24h, but rather more unpleasant texts in 2012

076 UK numbers are often a premium number scam.

But 07624 seems to be IOM mobile?

How does the premium number scam work in this example? The texter says that they want to rent the property and they ask you to email them at a stated email address. I did text them back but had no intention of either emailing or phoning. Are they relying upon curious people calling them to talk through their query rather than emailing as requested?

I'm feeling very left out! I've not had it but did have a very suspicious phone call on Wednesday from someone with the strongest Irish accent that I could barely understand them. They wanted to know if I had immediately availability. When I said no they wanted to know if I had availability any time this year! When I asked when they were thinking of they asked if I was generally busy. I said yes but I did have some availability, and they hung up! Hope they weren't trying to find out when the property would be empty.

Got it last night. I was not sure about it but delighted I checked it out on LMH.
