Post scam emails to warn other rental owners, or if you are not sure if an enquiry is genuine, put it up here and see what others think.

HA again and from a Vladimor Archipov.

Enquiry again to, two different properties, same name different email address. Its always 2 guests despite the fact these are bigger properties.

Please, please, please can people forward the scam emails to spoof@homeaway.com. I am getting sick of the quantity of scam emails i am getting from HA, so the more of us who can send them copies they may get the message they need to tighten up their security.

You beat me to it all from HA.
It is better to remain quiet and have one think you are stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt....

The biggest mistake we make in life is thinking we have time.

All these invented Russian names all of a sudden! Not had any personally - seems they are targeting largely UK rentals at the moment.

Just had one from Vladimir Arhipov, which is a great name from a rip off merchant.

Be careful what you wish for:

The only way they can tighten up their security is to build some software that attempts to interpret enquiries and not deliver those that it *thinks* are scams.

But what if the software gets it wrong ?

I believe that we all lose some bookings every year each because we reply to enquiries which are then (erroneously) blocked by some spam trap somewhere and we never know about it.

It takes less than half a second for a human to hit the Del key on spam, but many hours to get that real booking.
