Out of the blue I have just received a text:
we are 2 couple from London. We love your house and would like to rent it for 1 week in September. My email address is .......
Has anyone ever had anything like this???
Should I text or email?

One martini, two martini, three martini floor!
I'm not a fan. Mine never give a name either. I don't think I've even taken a booking as they have always been for booked weeks. I'm an old fashioned texter and always address the person if I know them and sign off with my name!Mouse wrote:I replied via Skype (cheaper actually).
First time I have ever had a text and not an email or phone call.
No name either.

OTOH I do find texting really useful for communicating with guests from when they leave their home. I can let them know if they can arrive earlier and for the rest of the stay if they need anything booked they can text me....it saves a few knocks on the door too which I don't mind at all.
Thanks everyone...yes I thought it a bit strange as if they got my number from the website/advert they would see we were fully booked and only showing 2016 prices. Plus no dates given either.
I agree about texts LV - I'm finding them a boon now for communicating with guests in situ rather than me having to walk round to the gate.
I too am old fashioned though and end up wasting words on salutations and sign offs!
