I am SO suspicious of anything now from the listing sites! I had a spoof one "from" VRBO the other day saying I had to log in and confirm various things due to someone reporting me as fake villa listing. Yeah, right.

I sent to spoof@homeaway. The hidden email address had eiq in it.

Now today, I have received a survey (allegedly) from Owner's Direct and I see their email address also has this mysterious eiq in the address. Is it real?? They do address me by name. The other one was Dear ,

PS I have worked my way through the header, guessing what to do with information as I go, as I am no techie, and I have arrived at Homeaway headquarters in Austin so I guess it is real!!

We received the survey also Felicity - think it's genuine all right. They tell us we are valued customers or some such rubbish. Don't think I'll bother have done so in the past and they never bothered to take anything on board.

We live in Harrow and I know Herga road - I wonder if they really live there or if they just picked an address at random.

They have replied and asked for the header to the email and the original message. If you could post the header and the email to kevin@ .. one of my domains, the I will forward the details.

Or you can send them to the email given in their reply.

I also received the valued customer (choked on cornflakes!) survey request from Owners Direct.

Thought ´ Is this a scam or not?´ .....and concluded that it must be a scam because Owners Direct do not value their customers and certainly don´t take a blind bit of notice of anything they might have to say!

This domain could have been shut down with evidence from the email header but sadly it's still active and no doubt still being used to scam people.
