HomeAway Standard Control Procedures

Just received this quite convincing request, seemingly from HomeAway. However, it was sent to my 'public' email address, not the one from which I administer my account. Also (easy to miss) please note the reply email address says homeway not homeAway. But the English and grammar are good so could easily convince someone who was caught off-guard.

Dear Owner/Manager,

As part of our standard quality control procedures, your account and listing(s) have been selected for further review.
Due to security reasons, we cannot keep your listing(s) live if we don't receive the required information.
We need to receive the following documentation from you within 2 working days.

Please supply us with the following:

1. A copy of your valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport).
2. A copy of your Credit/Debit Card front and back, used to pay for the listing(s). In the event that your credit card has expired, please provide a copy of the card that you will use for your upcoming renewal.

If you manage or represent the property on this listing, we will also need the following information:

3. A copy of the property owner’s valid photo ID (driver’s license or passport).

Failure to send the required documents in time will lead to your listing(s) being removed from the site.

Please make sure that all information is clear and legible.
You may attach scanned copies of this information to a reply to this email (steve@support-homeway.com).
Please include your listing(s) number.

We look forward to hearing back from you soon. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reply to this email.

Best Regards,
Steve Tucker
