Barbecue grills - horrible job!
Just been listening to Radio 2 and Aggie was on from HCIYH, she gave a great tip for cleaning barbecue grills, scrunch up some aluminium foil, rub on the grill et voilà, all the horrid stuff comes off easily. I've just tried it on mine and it works.

Whirlpool washing machine & tumble drier (American ones top loader washer) £399 a piece takes 10KG

My roller ironing machine Meile

My Hakawerk man that arrives at the door every 2 months... (modern version of travelling brush salesman!) the German products are just amazing, smell fantastic & also environmentally friendly - you'll perceive them as expensive but you use so little they are in the end cheaper than supermarket stuff.

Any tips for getting rust out of fabric - tried bleach, oxyaction, stardrops.

I think lemon was the old fashioned solution to rust.

'Fraid not apex blue, that's a difficult one.

A favourite product: White Wizard - you can get it in Lakeland and (I think) Robert Dyas - gets marks off virtually everything - I used it on some sticky marks on a pale coloured carpet and it worked really well.

...but I doubt if even that would get rust marks off fabric, sorry.

However, another site suggests that bleach will permanently set the rust stain in the fabric,so lemon may be too late

Tansy, in the dim and distant past I bought something from the chemist which worked a treat. I must have picked up the tip from somewhere but as for recalling where, forget it. Maybe you might be able to make some enquiries, HelenB? :)

Lemon worked! Thank you so much. Only been out in the sun for an hour (yes sunny in Wales today) and all rust stains gone.

I got a good tip from my cleaner for streak-free windows and mirrors: Amonia. Spray a little on a cloth and wipe over after cleaning.

Ditto White Wizard. My mother has virtually removed an old olive oil stain on carpet which nothing else would move.
