I think the general idea is that it definitely helps unless you're going for that "escape from everything" vibe. We stayed at an Inn last summer that didn't have any TVs or telephones in the rooms. I didn't know how I would manage at first, but it was delightful! I can't wait to stay there again. So you can definitely have success with it either way.
