Where to buy skimmer weir replacement

Post by KathyG »

Our last lovely  guests have managed to break one of the flaps (weirs) on the skimmer, can only have done that by pulling it and there's no reason for them to have their hands in there anyway!

I can only find American sites for replacements, has anyone had this problem and/or know where I could get a replacement?

Hello BB,

How strange, ours has just been broken too!

I found it very hard to find an exact match and ended up manufacturing one from a heavy duty white plastic toilet seat   And it works, and is probably a lot stronger as well.

You could also try http://www.piscineo.com/promotions-Piscineo.html

  Ooh Bobby, you're my man! :D Problem is, we're not there at the moment so do you fancy a trip to our place? Got a spare bit of toilet seat? :D Did you make the lugs as well? You might have found a niche market there Bobby!

BB, the lugs were lovingly crafted so that the whole thing is one solid flap.

Regarding the niche market, I am a bit worried about getting too bogged down with it, as I am not too flushed with time at the moment.

Perhaps later, as I don't want it to go down the pan.

No chance of a clue what a skimmer weir actually is? Do you use it for making gravy?

Tell you what MG, I have toilet seat left over, so I could always make you something out of it to stir your gravy.

But if Kathy's skimmer is the same as mine, it is the flap to stop the leaves coming back in to the pool - see

Look, if you've got time to make MG a gravy strainer, another skimmer flap would be a doddle!
