Its very "wide" on my monitor (1680 x 1050)

Might you want to put some side margins in there to stop it stretching too much on widescreens?

i have put a margin in at 975, does it make any difference to you ? I only have a small screen so cannot see if it does

It just makes the page look rather unbalanced - no change with your added margin I'm afraid.

I'm guessing that you have used percentage widths. What is happening is on my widescreen is that your column of text is occupying the right hand half and your menu is marooned on the left of the left hand laf with lots of space in between.

I'd post a picture but for some reason the image I dumped isn't playing and I have to leave for the day job now
