Bringing the kids.........

Post by Big Sis.. »

This made me smile....and made me feel a little better that I sometimes forget my kids are actually grownups...... of 25 and 31!! :D

''I'd like to bring my children (ages 43-54) in June 2010 for one week or two. Please tell me exactly where you are located''

Bless........

That made me laugh! I guess I'd feel the same when mine are grown up too..

We had a French family stay with us recently and something got lost in translation..
We have a section on our booking form, where we ask people to state how many children are coming and their ages (helps with cots etc.) - she put that 2 of her 'petits enfants' were coming. My husband and I went to town decorating one of the bedrooms as a surprise playroom, complete with toys, books and 'fun duvets'.
'Les enfants' were 23 and 30. Oh the shame.

 What a hoot, Chambo - and all that work!

I think they were really to blame - if I told someone I was bringing the grandchildren I would tell them the ages.

We still call ours "The Littlies". They're 23, 20, 19, 18 and 16! Not as bad as some of you, but they hate it!

I used to think the word "kids" for children was uncomplimentary because our offspring aren't baby goats, except maybe in the case of GG and MG, until my language teacher told us the word comes from the German "Kind."

Well it probably comes from the fact I called my Mums Mum Nanny rather than a Grandma :D .
Though I know a lot dont like to be called that either
When my daughters were born my Nanny was was called Nanny upstairs and my Mum was Nanny Downstairs
my Aunt was known to her grandchildren as Nanny Cat Cat..... :D
I used to call the children at my Playgroup my little Kiddywinks.......

my kids" are 29 and 23 this year. and both total cuties. (if they read this i've just received a virtual slap on the bum). :D

still, can't imagine booking a holiday home and referring to them as kids. :? " and i cannot imagine how eldest's wife would like me to refer to her husband as our kid.
