well he came straight back with an increased offer, but I still declined. frankly, even if he paid the full rate now I STILL wouldn't have him!

TP your place looks gorgeous, and having rented a villa in Gozo myself I can confirm you are NOT overpriced!

Some people just try it on. And I suppose, as long as they're polite, there's no harm in asking. But I have no truck with the 'we can get it cheaper elsewhere' statement. I tell them they're lucky and to snap it up in that case.

Last year someone booked a week, then asked me if I could find her somewhere cheaper for the second week! In the end though she booked the second week with us as well.

You are definitely right. Giving in early to these requests will mean that you would just lose so much as the peak season fills up.

I wonder if these people would ask a tour operator or travel agent for a 35% discount? Or, perhaps, an airline? They seem to think we're running charities!

I have had 15 enquires since Christmas all of them asking for our best price for july august.have replied offering a small discount for a 2 week booking, NO replies or bookings .

would you all have done the same thing ??

Last year we had a bit of this, but this year not once, maybe we are too cheap!

I think we are cheap compared to others in the market but as a new business I thought it would get us off the mark!! WRONG!!
