Farm accommodation holiday organisations

I'm trying to find out some information for some French friends of mine who belong to, and are very active in promoting an organisation in France called 'Accueil Paysan' - holidays in the coutryside with hosts who know the area well (often they are farmers). They are interested in knowing if similar organisations exist in the UK.
The basis of it is small farm businesses who offer accommodation (holiday rentals, campsites, B&B etc.) and along with this share their local knowledge about the countryside and how they make a living from it.
I know that there aren't many small farm businesses in the UK compared to France, but wondered if anyone could help point me in the direction as to whether or not there are similar types of oraganisation which promote this sort of activity?
