Optimising you site for search engines .............

Post by mpprh »

Hi

I've spent a lot of time with this. Too much time, my wife would say.

Here are some tips :

This is not my work , but it makes sense to me. Parts are a little obsolete, but 95% is good solid info.
Things I’ve discovered :
Google is not the only search engine. You need to look at other engines too.
Googlebot now trawls through databases. It even opens a cart in Ecommerce pages.
Googlebot looks at pages in development. I.e. no link exists. Don’t know how, but it does !
Expect to take 6 months to get real results

Peter,

Could you accredit that article? Don't want to be infringing someone's copyright. Thanks.

By the way, the advice on content is meant for a different kind of site, in case anyone thinks they need to add another 95 pages to their site. It is good to keep adding relevant content, but you don't need to be doing a page a day.

Hi

It was originally posted at Webmaster World by Brett Tabke in 2002 : http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

I've removed the full text above.

It has been widely reproduced, and can be read via Joannas link above.

Hi

Interestingly, the above a to z guide has been updated, and republished on the web.

It is here : http://www.sitepronews.com

It is worth saving the content because that URL will soon change.
