SWIFT Codes - selection based on fee %

My bank informed me today that when sending a wire transfer I could use a different SWIFT code that would utilize a different intermediary bank that might not charge as much as the SWIFT code that I presented and was provided by the recipient.

She told me that I could look up SWIFT codes and percentages online but that she could not "recommend" any.

Does anyone have any experience with SWIFT code selection


I looked up SWIFT Codes online and found this......
Visit the Swift internet site at Swift.com/biconline. Enter the bank or corporation name and do a search. The search results will provide the number (s) assigned to the company by Swift.

The basic search is free, for more detailed information, a paid subscription is required.
