Our Local is the Best - Official!

Post by greenbarn »

One of the two local pubs in our village has just won the AA 2012/21013 England Award for The Pub Of The Year, as told by The Local Paper

However, it's still going to be difficult when guests ask us which of the two pubs to recommend - that's how good the other pub (The King's Head) is, particularly their menu which includes the best panna cotta on the planet.

Nice problem to have; now I'm trying to work out how to milk The Black Swan's award for all it's worth!

How lovely! Nice marketing problem to have......

We are the opposite - our best pub closed, not due to anything other than developer greed. The owners forced the managers out, stripped it of all the equipment and left it empty; in order, probably, to expediate getting permission to knock down or redevelop as houses along with the land. Beautiful Victorian building as well..... :(

The other run down pub shut a year earlier, so we only have one in walking distance now. Long may good, independent pubs in tourist areas remain a success, for our guests as well as the locals. Cheers to them. :)
