Google Page Rank ..........

Everything to do with using your own website to advertise your rental property. Design, usability, hosting, getting listed on the search engines, optimising your site, pay-per-click, etc, etc.

Google Page Rank ..........

Post by mpprh »

Google is currently recalculating Page Ranks. This seems to be quite a rare event.

Some of mine are up, some down but most largely unchanged. At least they have allocated page ranks to new pages created over the last 6 months or so.

And they reorganised the google image search a couple of months back. If you have photos, this can help get visitors who are checking photos of your area.

Hi

as there is some discussion about the importance of Page Rank, it may be worth sharing some research I had to do. I used google to search on an obscure bit of text from Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a free source, and is used by many websites.

The results were :

Google position URL Page Rank
1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languedoc 7
2 http://www.answers.com/topic/languedoc 4
3 http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Languedoc 3
4 http://experts.about.com/e/l/la/Languedoc.htm 2
5 http://help.com/wiki/Languedoc 0
6 http://www.search.com/reference/Languedoc 0
7 http://languedoc.quickseek.com/ 3
8 http://www.arthistoryclub.com/art_history/Languedoc 0
9 http://copernicus.subdomain.de/Languedoc 0

It seems that PR is still an important indicator in the algorythm.
