Satellite Switchover

Post by revive »

Hey

Has anyone got details about this satellite switchover? a bunch of my friends got the smaller 1m dishes installed, and i was speaking to a local tv engineer who was saying that they are going to be switching the sattelite to the new one soon and the dishes will be obsolete.

thanks.

If you are in Spain:

Switchover probably in the next few days.

The news is that things should start changing from the 23rd to 26th November as Channels are moved from Astra 1N to the new Astra 2F Satellite

If the beam is changed, the footprint might change, then dish sizes may also have to be changed possibly up to 2 metres or more.

But we are unlikely to know until it all happens, which will be this weekend. (So not long to wait :D )

thanks, im in southeast coast of spain so we should be badly effected.

Ill go with the larger dish then, just hard to find the space for these monster sized dishes you know, without losing a whole terrace to it.
