Programme In-Use Shut Down

Post by Cat7139 »

Hello All.

Slowly, we're getting to grips with Dreamweaver and yes, we are realising that it is so very necessary to understand the coding!

However, we are currently experiencing operating problems using Windows XP home which is slowing our progress down enormously.

In our own website and in particular as we are now trying to create galleries of images, we are finding that when a particular document is open and when trying to introduce a JPEG photo into that document, that the application (Dreamweaver) closes when attempting to open the file in which the desired photo image lays.

As a qualifier, we are also having difficulty with free downloads such as EasyClean and other 'hung' applications.

Interestingly, the situation is made easier if I drag files and work them from the desktop. I'm wondering if there is a file naming issue or a folder-within-a-folder issue, or perhaps too many embedded layers for the Explorer to navigate through?

We cannot for the life of us understand the Microsoft knowledge base pages as obviously one's entire life could pass by whilst even attempting to find a relevant solution!

Has anyone any ideas, please? All help gratefully received.

Thanks.
