Done it but no difference
However, when I hover my mouse over the work HYPERLINK (before the squiggly brackets containing the URL) I get 3 options coming up:
Annull hypertestual link
Disactivate automatic creation hypertestual connection
Control Options (with capital 'O') automatic formatting
Any help?

Yes, kev that's exactly what I have and I'm still trying to figure it out!
Everything tells me to click on the Office Button at the top left hand corner of MS Word but I don't have that MS icon there I have the W for word and clicking on that doesn't give me any of the options suggested....so what now?

OMG I've finally done it; it kept reappearing - guess why? I forgot to click OKkevsboredagain wrote: However. have a look under File/Options/Advanced to see if something called "Show field codes instead of their values" is checked, in the section Show Document Content.
(I would love to know just why it didn't work with Alt-F9)
Thanks for all your patience
