Ad Blockers

Post by pambon »

Please can you suggest a good Ad Blocker that is relatively easy to download etc.

Am fed up with all these ads that are now appearing on my laptop screen; even my iphone is begining to have some too

Thanks as always.

Most blockers tend to be for a web browser. I use AdBlock Plus for Firefox. On a phone, if you're using free apps supported by advertising, then you need a rooted phone normally to block ads, at least with Android.

If the ads are pop up windows when browsing normal sites, then you have a problem.

I'll third Adblock - for Chrome! Prefer it to Adblock Plus which slowed things down too much for me.

Found that adblock edge is working a bit better than adblocker it's self.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/firefo ... lock-edge/
The important bit to read about the difference is
Adblock Edge is a fork of the Adblock Plus version 2.1.2 extension for blocking advertisements on the web, without sponsored ads whitelist.
More information.
