Je dirais plûtot "je sais parler français" au lieu de "je peux parler français"
I'm used to a French keyboard and have major problems with finding the 'a' and full stops, commas when I go back to the UK to check my e mails. It is much easier for French spelling and accents - although it did take me a while to work out how the @ key functioned!

I like this game

Susan

Is that something like 'I am speaking nervously / would say nervously I know (how) to speak French as opposed to I can speak French.

I am fascinated by something you said before Susan, about having to think about speaking English in a bookshop. How long have you been in France for and do you 'think' in French now, is that what happens, once you start thinking in another language then English becomes harder ?

Sorry, just realised this is way off topic so have started one in the cafe.
Don't waste energy on things you can't change.
