I read somewhere that some of the 'cleverer' scammers deliberately misspell words to pre-filter out those who are careful/observant etc and are therefore less likely to fall into their subsequent trap. That way they only trap the greedy/illiterate/careless etc.

Would Apple ask you to 'verify your Appal ID'? And if they did, would you?
