Owners should write a letter or call vrbo re: new fees

OTA = Online Travel Agency, which means those sites that sell the booking and take the payment for you.

Owners should write a letter or call vrbo re: new fees

Post by doraine »

Our guests are complaining about the new fees, and our business is down. We have written a letter complaining to vrbo about the new fees, which are quite high for the guests. Please do also, if you feel so inclined, because there is power in numbers. We are also telling our unhappy clients that they should also.

If you don't already know: there's an enormous amount of activity on Facebook and Twitter against these charges.

Don't have much time at the mo but one of the pages is

Welcome to LMH by the way.

Doraine - did you attend the Webinar? I posted about it ( secondhand) here viewtopic.php?t=25931

I would add that you can also encourage your guests to give feedback through the feedback tabs on the web pages if they are unhappy about the fee as HA really needs to be hearing the dissent from the 'target'.

Are you posting in the HA community forum for the US? That gets noticed. So much so that if you are considered too opinionated, your post or thread gets wiped but not before you have had the satisfaction of telling them what you think! You can also post on their own Facebook page.

And then I assume you are already in one or two of the closed owner Facebbook groups discussing options?

Action in USA

Post by 2madames »

An owner in the USA has filed a class action against HomeAway and a survey is being conducted and needs more exposure.
Here is the link to the survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L8TRSY8

Now is the time to stand up, the whole situation for owners and guests is becoming ridiculous and expensive. Not just HomeAway, Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Housetrip, Wimdu..........need I go on!
