Updates need checked

Post by Hells Bells »

Hi, could anyone spare 5 minutes to check out the links to availability and my calendar? I keep getting interrupted and my head is spinning. Particularly interested in the links working correctly etc, but all opinions welcome.

Really nice, Helen.

Didn't find any broken links.

All seemed to work, but (well there had to be a but, didn't there !) after a littler browsing around your website, I ended up with quite a few open windows. Many of those links open a new window . Unnecessarily IMHO, but probably because you're linking to external services and because you've kept the overall look so consistent, its not easy to spot this.

Thanks Richard, the new window thing came from when the booking calendar did not match my site. As it now has the menu on each the links are unnecessary, and I have started to remove them.

Hi Helen

Just quickly checked all the links and the only one that doesn't work for me is the J2ski one, I get an error message.
Don't waste energy on things you can't change.

MG, I honestly don't have a clue how I've done it. All I can think of is the link in my signature from Snowheads.

Why do you advertise other people's properties on your site? You have a link to Holiday lettings and you even say that this is a link to other properties.

I can't see what you gain by this. It's a lovely site, though, and both property and place look attractive.

Pauline, I had to have a reciprocal link in order to have my web address on my holiday lettings listing. So I do gain.

Oh I see. Well, as long as you still get referrals then perhaps it doesn't matter.

I thought you could pay for a non-reciprocal link; only £30, seems sensible to me.

Andy, when I set it up a long time ago, probably the extra £30 was too much, as I had money to pay for other sites. and I hadn'tyet received any rental income. I don't get the option of paying for a non-reciprocal link on other sites.
