Page loading speed

Post by VillaAntonioLanzarote »

Hi all

Having been looking at my page loading speed as Google says it is important

Mine is taking over 8 seconds to load
Result here
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/160701_3Z_NK7/
I am working on trying to compress more images

Does anyone have any other ideas on how to speed up the page loading ( the web site is built on the Wix platform )?

Many thanks

Larry

All I can see is there is a lot of JS being used. Are they really required?

I'd imagine it's because there is not just 1 parallax image but 4. I personally like the parallax effect but if over used it can make a page grind to a halt and be over bearing. You also have to consider that much of the text there is unreadable depending on where the page is. The content is taking a back seat on this home page and is hard to read.

Clicking on any of the buttons take me to a place which looks like another website. A bit of consistency is needed. You don't need to tell people to "click to learn more". Learn more on it's own is enough as people know how to use a mouse on a webpage

If using Wix there will be no control over that.
