Mouldy fridge.

Agencies and other headaches, keys and cleaners, running costs and contracts...in short, all the things we spend so much of our time doing behind the scenes.<br>

Mouldy fridge.

Post by Bellywobble »

Does anyone have any tips for removing the black mould that appears around the seal on fridge doors? There must be something that gets it off, and short of buying a new fridge, is there a way to prevent it?

Funny you should ask. One of our frigs developed this problem within the last two months. I'm bleaching the edge of the sealer every changeover and, poof, it's right back again. It's ugly and gross.

I tried turning down the temp.... but now I'm thinking we'll just replace the seal and see if that fixes it.

Hope someone has a better solution?

Try toothpaste that is supposed to work as well .Apply it with a toothbrush right into the dip and wipe it off with a damp cloth.

Kayley, its proper chemical name is sodium tetraborate if that's any help.

For anyone wanting to see Enid's tip, I have created the following link:

http://www.tinyURL.com/ylo2cc

I think it was Mountain Goat who pointed me to tinyURL.com - handy for shrinking a link into a more user friendly format. Magic!

Now I 'spose I'd better go and tackle the problem! Much more fun talking about it! :D
