And where are all the holiday rental owners?
Come on guys - let's show off our beautiful provinces.
Ontario for a start has 250,000 lakes and thousands of those are ringed with cottages, many of them for rent. We have snowy winters, perfect for cross country skiing, skating and snow shoeing, and long hot summers on lakes that are warm enough for swimming by mid June. Top that off with magnificent fall colours and you have the perfect year round destination for vacation rentals.
We bought our first cottage here in 1999 when we were still living in UK and followed that by buying 5 more. Prices then were amazingly reasonable which has changed somewhat, but you can still buy a good sized waterfront property for under $300,000 in some areas.
I'd love to see more Canadians posting here and discussing how we rent and some of our unique issues.
