Registering guests with the police in Valencian community

Post by jemol »

Hi I am new to renting out my house in Spain and would like to know if it is a legal requirement to register every guests passport details with the local police. My house is in the Valencian community and as I dont live there it would be very difficult to do this each week.
Thanks

welcome to the forum
First of all do not rent your property until you have obtained a licence to do so.
The laws were issued several years ago with an update in 2015.

This is the link which gives details on how to go about that. The English version is not working.

Normally registration of guests is done via the Guardia Civil website and you will also need to set up a licence number to input data.

You should also get your tax payments sorted out ASAP how you go about this depends on if you are doing it as a person or as a Spanish company.
There is loads of information in the forum like these links.

Thank you for the information. I am aware of the need to have a tourist licence and have that organised. I just couldnt find any information regarding the need to register the guests details each week. I will have to talk to the local police when I am out there next month and ask my local rep to collect the details.

The links I gave are for the Guardia Civil. You have to compleate the PDF form for them. The local Police (Policía Local) are very different organisation.

Thanks roxytoo I think I will have to phone the local Guardia Civil and ask them as there can be local laws in addition to national laws. I hope I wont have to do it as its a lot of work.
