Ruralidays

Post by Casscat »

Don't know anything about this outfit but I stumbled across them while searching for something to do with a festival in my area. They seem to be solely for properties in Andalucía and presumably away from the coast bearing in mind the name. I have no idea how they charge as I cannot find a link to the page for any owner interested in listing, and I cannot find a reference to Ruralidays already on the LMH forum so I thought I'd just flag it. Looking at the reviews for properties listed they do seem to attract their bookings from Spanish and non-UK northern Europeans: https://www.ruralidays.co.uk/

If you take their fiscal tax number B-93389708 that shows in their "about us" page, and google it you can get info on the company.
For example her: http://www.infocif.es/empresa/global-online-booking-sl
That tells you that their registered business name is GLOBAL ONLINE BOOKING SL and Ruralidays will probably be just the name of the website.
The termination SL is Sociedad Limitada with the basic obligatory capital of €3000. That is the same type of business as the village pub. A bigger company would end SA Sociedad Autonoma and the required capital to start up is €60000.
It doesn't mean that they won't bring bookings but as we Scots say "It's a sair fecht," if you're a wee boy in the Hol-rent business.

Back again just to clarify what I said. I took a look at Spain-holiday who are in my opinion the best. Their fiscal set-up is SL the same as Ruralidays. It is registered with a capital base of €3000 with Claus Sorensen as the sole director.
http://www.infocif.es/ficha-empresa/spa ... rentals-sl
So they started just like Ruralidays and did spectacularly well. But Ruralidays was set up in 2015 while SP was in 2006 when the market was younger.
So both sites are registered as small businesses, both doing hol-let listing and both in Malaga.
I hope Ruralidays become as good as SH. The idea of a site specialising in rural properties is a sound niche proposal.
Bear in mind that both are registered as Spanish companies so owners who advertise with them have the protection (and obligations) of Spanish law.

My curiosity was piqued by the fact that they a) had listings and b) the guest comments emanated almost entirely from non-British guests. Now it could be that Ruralidays is a rogue outfit stealing listings and feedback from elsewhere, but I cannot know from my cursory inspection where they garner their unique traffic. Worth an enquiry/phone call/general probe? I say this as someone who is not now offering a holiday let so I have no axe to grind, but when I was letting I really wanted to tap the Spanish and non-UK European market so this stumbled upon find was intriguing and I thought I'd share.
