Website review

Post by whirlybird »

Hello all,

If you get a minute to check and comment would be appreciated.

At present we are with an agent, that may change if they don't improve.

So, pricing and availability is via the agent via a link.

There are more sections only available to people who are logged into our wifi, local fetes, concerts, etc

Thanks for your time.

I really like your website! It is easy to navigate and has all the salient facts and information.

The graphics of Alpaca and sheep immediately set the scene and you have sensibly listed the two properties with their own descriptions and photos, so there is no confusion.

Have you thought about putting a contact number and email address? Having landed on your website, I personally would like to be able to contact the owner for initial enquiry or questions even if bookings are taken via an agent.

All in all, fabulous properties, great selection of photos and I like the overall look of your website which is professional but not impersonal.
"It's a funny old world...." but full of the most amazing people. :-) Sense of humour essential!

Hi Jan

Thanks for the feedback.

On the contact page, there is the option to send an email which comes directly to me. I don't like putting my email address on web site because the get caught by all sorts of spiders and then spammed for ever more. Would using a contact form as opposed to direct email address worry you ?

The same for telephone numbers.

I suppose, I hope people would either use the contact form or go to the Facebook page and use messenger.

What are your views on that ?

Thanks

Erik

It looks a lovely place and I liked the animal cams.

On the home page it should say "if you're looking for" not your.

Will bear you in mind if we're coming to Devon.

I would like you to make it quite clear on your home page that you do not accpet dogs. It took me some time to find out yes/no after wandering around being enticed by your animals.
BTW you should more correctly say 'no dogs except registered assistance dogs'

Hi

Thanks for that comment, a good point.

We don't accept dogs and that has been a big "discussion" with our agent. They keep on telling me that 60% of their business is with dog owners, I have to explain that we are catering specially for the other 40% !

I have added that to the home page.

Many thanks

That's better, it saves the 60% of us wasting our time (and yours if folk email you to ask!) I still think you should add 'except for registered assistance dogs'.
