Including Expedia. I wonder how they will interpret the fact that we as owners are being viewed , or whether they will only look at it from the view of the consumer.

Interesting. I wonder if the CMA investigation will extend into Expedia's foray into the 'furnished holiday lettings' sector (HA, OD and so on), or will the investigation just stick to hotels? I would think that holiday lets are a whole subject in themselves.

I think it includes us, as 'accommodation providers' so we should be filling in the questionnaire click through on this page....

That survey is absolute gold dust for us all to complete. Especially where it wants to know how/where we appear on HA listings

Hmmm. Is this an opportunity for LMH to represent its community of owners?

A few hundred(?) individual responses vs a single response representing the LMH community?

There appear to be a small number on here who do a great job of keeping up with the subtle changes in the industry, and how they impact the independent FHL owner. Wouldn't it be more valuable to boil their knowledge and experience down into a single response from 'us'?

I disagree. The more individual responses the better.

I disagree.
Both approaches have their merits. My experience from past involvements with UK govt enquiries is that responses from representative groups carry more weight than individual responses. But there is no right or wrong answer. Just an opinion.

FYI, I'm told the UK Tourism Alliance will be calling upon its member associations to provide 'evidence' for a TA submission to the enquiry.

I'm definitely completing the form. If enough holiday rental owners complete it we have more chance of our views being taken into account, or it might prompt them to investigate our concerns. Even if no action is taken, publicity surrounding this might encourage consumers to go beyond the OTAs when searching for holiday accommodation.

We've found its best when booking an overnight stay in Spain to avoid non-Spanish sites, they are invariably dearer.Like Booking.com

Shameless bump for this thread.

I've completed my questionnaire, and just sent it off now. Needless to say, the comments about Owners Direct (HomeAway) aren't particularly favourable!
