Mattresses for bunk beds

Post by Aphra »

Hello

Are there any recommendations for a mattress and bedding for bunks?

It seems that bunks need lighter mattresses (makes sense) and that they shouldn't be more than 20cm (8") deep - the bottom one needs to provide the 75cm clearance that Visit Scotland require, and the top one needs to be shallow enough that the bed rails still work as bed rails.

But we want our guests to be comfortable, especially since one market we are aiming at is groups of adults (walkers, family reunions, etc) as well as the family market.

So my question is do you have any mattress recommendations for bunks? I guess they will get less wear and tear than the main beds, but if an adult is compromising by sleeping in the bunks, I want them to have a great night's sleep.

Any recommendations or advice very gratefully accepted.

I just bought mattresses from Hotel Contract beds for bunks.

I can't remember the name, but I phoned them and the bloke advised which ones to get.
