Interestingly, we looked at the new development of 15 apartments next to ours in the historic centre of Malaga in Southern Spain. The agent boasted that the whole block was 'smart' with smart locks for entry to the building and each apartment and that all of them were fitted with alarm systems and tobacco detectors to prevent people smoking. I suspect this may be the future.

On the woodburner front, we are having ours replaced this year with a pellet burning central heating system (using wood pellets, olive stones or almond shells). All of the models available are Wifi controlled meaning you can turn them on and control them (as long as loaded with fuel) from anywhere. This is the local supplier in our little mountain village.
