Do pillow protectors stop pillows getting that musty smell?

Agencies and other headaches, keys and cleaners, running costs and contracts...in short, all the things we spend so much of our time doing behind the scenes.<br>

Do pillow protectors stop pillows getting that musty smell?

Post by SPJ »

Touch wood, our pillows tend to stay pretty clean. At the moment I just have an inner pillow case and outer. But I do find that pillows can get a musty smell - I tend to chuck them in the tumble dryer with a perfume strip to freshen them up between guests.

I was wondering about pillow protectors and whether they stop pillows getting that musty smell?

Thanks for any thoughts / advice

I use the asda own brand protectors with zips, 5 gbp for 2. I wash them every 5 lets or so, always smell fresh and protects the pillow.

Me personally would want to find out why the pillows are getting a musty smell and then rectify that problem.

Damp!
Poor ventilation!

If the pillows smell musty chuck them out and start again. Use pillow protectors (I use quilted ones from M&S) and give them a quick wash them at every changeover. They don't take long to dry.
