So non-internet marketing is actually dead?

Using press and magazine advertising, brochures, mailings - old hat or still cost-effective?

I was once, some years ago, offered a spot in Norwegian Airways' inflight magazine. It came to nothing in the end, so I can't give statistics.

We paid to have adverts in a couple of magazines this year as it was our first season and I’m almost certain they generated zero bookings as none of our quests mentioned in response to “how did you find us?”.

Despite getting a hefty discount, this was several hundred pounds down the pan.

My property was featured in a newspaper article early this year. It has been great to include this in advertising and social media posts.

I didn’t solicit the feature and it cost me nothing but has been great publicity.
