Hi,

Been with an agent for 3 years and fed up with the service they provide for what they charge and decided to do it ourselves.

There are lots of tutorials on building a web site but before that I need a host.
Looked at Bluehost site but which plan? is shared ok?
Then they want you to buy extras?

Any advice appreciated on what I actually need for our single FHL.
Best,
Karen & John

Most definitely Promote My Place.
You will see a lot written about it on the site. Easy to create and add to your site and editing it even if you have never done this before.
I will pm you a discount code.

Fully agree with Zebedee, Promote My Place is first rate and their annual subscription rate is not particularly expensive.
Even I , a 'techno phobe', created my own web site using the Promote My Place platform.
Also they are very helpful, responding quickly if you have any queries or problems.

Another vote for PMP

Excellent technical support and they will build your site for you if even using the templates is a tech test too far.

You can also bolt on booking management, credit card payments and online booking.

If you decide to buy a domain you can link them which looks very professional

All for £69 a year

Always lots of PMP fans on this forum. Iíve been happy with a WordPress website.

See this post for details and a bit of a pmp / WordPress chat:

And this one

I use SiteGround to host with the basic Start Up plan. Nothing to compare it with but they seem very good at communication and keeping the site running and up to date with latest levels of software.
