Weed killer Recommendations Sought

Post by LotBoy47 »

Looking for some weed killer recommendations as I just used the last of our eco-friendly and eye-wateringly expensive Roundup and wasn’t impressed by its’ performance compared to the old formula.

Better for the same money or same performance for less €€€ would be ideal.

Thanks.

This mixture: 1/2 bottle of strong household white vinegar, diluted with half the amount of water and 2 tablespoons washing up liquid and about 4 tablespoons of salt

This could work on areas where you dont want anything to grow again, such as paths and areas of parking. Dont use on your potager.
What would Plato do ?

It may be different in France, but Roundup is simply a trade-name for glyphosate which is (in the UK) available in many 'packages' now and works the same as it always has done.

Last year we used Preen One LawnCare and it's good for lawns where weeds are already growing. It's bright green, absorbs water well. It also kills most broad leafs and plants, so keep it away from your garden. You should spread weed & feed on damp/wet grass and no rain should be expected at least for 2 days. For us the hardest thing was to choose a good trimmer because most we tried, dried-out or broke very fast. Now we have nylon Anleolife Trimmer Line and happy with it so far. If you're planning to buy ine, make sure the line will fit on your trimmer head.

One more thing: if you have pets, keep them off the lawn until the first drenching rain after application because of chemicals used in lawn
The more you know
