Fire wall in the loft - OK for insurance & fire safety?

Post by P&L »

We`re buying a semi-detached house on the Isle of Wight to use as a second home and holiday let. Our survey has just come back and one of the issues is an incomplete fire wall in the loft between the two sides of the building. There`s a bit missing above one of the bedrooms which could be deemed a fire risk as if there was a fire next door it could spread through the loft to our property, especially the smoke.
Given the strict fire safety regulations for holiday lets could this be an issue? I imagine we might also find it hard to get a holiday let insurance.

This needs to be fixed regardless of whether it's a holiday let or not.
