Our cottages have both mortise locks and a Yale type night latch. There are no door handles and guests use the key in the night-latch to push open the door.
I’m thinking of replacing the mortise lock with a Nuki lock, but then I still have the problem of having the give guests the night latch key.
Do I need both a mortise and a night latch? And if I don’t, then how can I convert the nightlatch so guests can open the door without needing the key?

Have you thought about fitting thumb turn locks?
We have them and the locks are manufactured by a company called Ultion (www.ultion-lock.co.uk).
