Oh Gino, that was disappointing, but there will be more inquiries - I know you don't believe is yet but you will!! As for letting the American man know about this latest development, my advice would be to sit on your hands - it's tempting I know, but over-eagerness is off-putting. He will get back to you - as others have said, he sounds a reasonable chap. Be patient, and we're with you all the way!gino wrote: "I will let you know one way or the other once we make a decision. Thanks for letting me know. "
Hope I'm not alone in giving you this advice!
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be
HI ALL
This is SO true ...I had an enquiry[by phone last week] for a Month in Feb[next week] which is not a easy month to rent...
I gave a rate that I thought was Ok and he said he would let me know....
Didnt hear anything so thought Id outpriced myself
I checked with others at what they would have quoted...and it was a lot less so I was really kicking myself...
and if I had had his phone number would have rang him back and chased him...dropped the rate...maybe put him off.....and come over as desperate .
Anyway he phoned yesterday and booked at the original rate So there you go
I know when Im thinking about purchasing anything I like to BUY rather than be SOLD anything and if people start selling me Im off....

Well done, Ros!
I think there's a lot of wisdom in the idea of letting them mull it over. I know I'm getting better at that!
I have found one trick that may or may not work - if I hear nothing back after a few days, I send an e-mail attaching more photos of the apartment (I don't have my own website up yet and some rental sites don't give you much space) "to give [them] a better idea of the place".
It acts as a reminder, without being pushy.
At least, that's what I'm hoping. I've only just started doing this so we'll see.
