Here's a first!

Post by Guest3 »

This evening we've had our checking-in guests (who have had detailed directions and a map to the villa) turn up at our apartment!! Dialogue by telephone call...

"We're here by the beach...but we can't see the villa!"
Me.."Why has the taxi driver dropped you off at the beach...where are you exactly?"
Guest..."outside (he gave our address)"
Me..."But that's where we live...not the villa address!"

They only gave the taxi driver our address instead of the villa address!.....so Hubby and I had to show the taxi drivers the way to the villa (which is only a few minutes drive) from where we live!

Do people really leave their brains at home the minute they check-in at the airport?

Would I! Well you'd have thought between them, one of them would have looked at the detailed directions and map to the villa at some point...just to know where it was!

Crystal,

I used to holiday in Mojacar, south east Spain.

On one occasion I was sitting in a beach bar and couldn’t help but overhear the conversation between four good Geordie lads, with wives or girlfriends, on the next table.

One said to the others “bloody big island this mind. The others asked “how’s that? He replied “I hired a car yesterday and took my wife inland; I drove all morning and couldn’t find the other side of the island.

I couldn’t resist asking “where do you think you are? The reply was “Majorca, of course!

I give the same very detailed directions to all my guests.

Why is it then that some guests say they are rubbish and they got lost and had to ask for help from a non english speaking passerby and other guests say they are perfect - the best directions they've ever seen!

(well to be truthful no one's ever said that last bit but someone last year did it say it was like having me in the car with them - is that good or bad??)

La Luz I'd take that as a compliment!

We had Dutch guests (who communicated in emails in perfect English) early March who said that our map and detailed directions were "excellent"....yet the guests (so far) who normally get lost are the ones from the UK! :?
