Cross-browser testing / Mac emulation?

The place to discuss anything to do with computers, software, hardware, no matter how basic or technical. We all use this stuff, but we don't always understand it!

Cross-browser testing / Mac emulation?

Post by Mountain Goat »

Anyone know of a live site which offers this at less than an eye-watering cost?

I'm assuming that Safari is only a Mac thing.

I've found browserpool.de which looks what I need, but Mac / Safari, although offered, doesn't appear in the final gadget.

Correction to above, browserpool.de replied and it's now wound up and running. Their English site is at browserpool.com

Cool gadget, basically you can view any site through almost any browser on any platform. For Mac: IE, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Camino, Shiira (Shiira??).... and for true geeks - Linux: Konqueror, Firefox, Opera, Dildo, Lynx, ELinks etc. Dildo?? No, Dillo, apologies. What? You don't use a Dillo browser as default? Their full list is here:

If you don't pay, you get thrown off when they're busy, but hey....the UK equivalent is £250/day....good old Brits, we know how to turn a penny or two.

Thanks, Firebug. And I think the same sort of thing at:

http://www.browsercam.com/

It wasn't so much the screenshots, which are useful, but it was playing around with customised drop-down menus and links that I wanted to check in WordPress, as they vary a lot between browsers, and there's some very variable WP plug-ins which clash with different WP themes.
