NCT

We have tried the NCT this year, foolishly signing up for around a 100 local groups of which about 20 contacted us (the deal is that you pay a modest sum to NCT central who send your details to the groups you specify and then acknowledge all contacts, as they are unpaid volunteers). Next time, we'll choose to get details of 30 and get 10 to choose from.

The great advantage is that, by definition, NCT members have pre-school children and most are happy to go outside school terms. It is also a very sociable organisation, so if you get a satisfied guest, word of mouth will likely get you more.

We advertised in five magazines for around £25/quarter page and have got our first booking, so the marketing cost has been recovered.

So, if you have family-friendly accommodation and are looking to fill outside school terms, it's something to try.

That looks interesting John, thanks for posting the details. What made you approach them?

Just trying to think how to attract guests off-season and Jane was a member many years ago - she was a Twig, who is the administrator of a branch! Her peer-group formed "the Buddies", which lives on after 18 years, which I'm sure is not uncommon.
